White Lightning Strain Review
Would it be fair to say that White Lightning is better than White Widow? Superior to one of the world’s most legendary strains? Well, you’d probably p**s off a few folks saying so, but given the fact that it’s smoother, more crystalline and delivers a way better yield than its counterpart…well, just saying!
There’s an unmistakable hint of hash resin in the aroma of White Lightning, which delivers a perfectly heavy smoke with a slightly spicy flavour. Approached cautiously, the stone is progressive and controllable with a whole-body effect from the first hit. It is also a very long-lasting high, recommended in medical circles for the treatment of migraines, PMS and mild anxiety.
Growing White Lightning
Growers can expect relatively compact plants in the region of 90cm, with gorgeously dark leaves and less side branching than the average cannabis plant. Give it just a fortnight of flowering and you’ll already see resin emerging on the leaves, making an already pretty plant all the more stunning. However, it’s when the white crystals really begin to take over and cover the bulging buds that White Lightning becomes nothing short of a masterpiece. Expect THC concentrations of about 20% or so, if you get it right.
Unless you’re an experienced greenhouse grower and living in a year-round warm climate, you can forget about growing White Lightning outdoors. Hydroponics come particularly highly recommended for this strain, which will leave you with yields in the region of half a kilo for every square metre. Flowering times vary from seven to 10 weeks, though you might end up with an even heavier resin output after 11 to 12 weeks.
In terms of bud appeal alone, White Lightning is an absolute winner – just mind-blowing in its aesthetic prowess. But it’s not all about appearances, as while it might be a slightly demanding strain to grow, it delivers its own unmistakable whole-body stone that’s enjoyable and controllable on an exquisite level.
